Messi and Ronaldo are to face off for what may be the final time in February

DANCE?

Soccer legends Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi are poised to cross  swords in the new year, in what looks like being their final meeting.

Ronaldo’s Al Nassr are to face  Messi’s Inter Miami in an eagerly-anticipated clash in the Saudi  capital, Riyadh, on 1 February.

The Al Nassr-Miami match-up will  be played as part of the Riyadh  Season Cup, a friendly tournament  also featuring Neymar’s Al Hilal.

Ahead of the new MLS season, Miami have arranged several overseas warm-up fixtures, with the Herons also flying to El Salvador, Hong Kong and Japan.

Miami, beware: Ronaldo is in superb scoring form. The 38-year-old  has netted 16 goals in 15 Saudi Pro League appearances this season.

He’s level with Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappé as the second highest scorer in 2023, with 50 goals. Only Harry Kane, with 51, has more.

The only battle that’s still ongoing between Ronaldo and Messi is  the tussle to be the all-time  highest scorer in men’s soccer.

The Portuguese currently leads  the way with 869 goals. Messi is  48 behind his long-time foe, but  has played 154 games fewer.

So far, Ronaldo and Messi have faced off 35 times in their careers. The Argentine has been on the winning side 16 times; CR7, 10 times.
