The Canadian soccer star joins 'Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse'

SPIDER-MAN

DAVIES

Alphonso Davies is once again one of the names of the season. But not only for his sporting performances, but also those off the field.

In November, he made his debut with the Canadian national team at a World Cup in Qatar. He went on to score a header against Croatia.

He also completed another record, as he won his fifth Bundesliga title in his five years as a Bayern player in a crazy final day to decide the league.

"I don't want to let Bayern down, but Madrid with 14 Champions Leagues..." said his agent when interest from Spain emerged. Next year could see it.

The charisma of 'Phonzie' didn't only attract the attention of Madrid, but also Marvel, who 'signed' the Canadian to make the leap to the big screen.

Davies forms part of the cast of 'Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse', the latest instalment in the iconic saga and one of the year's most eagerly awaited.

He brings the character Spider-Man '67 to life by lending his voice to the dubbing of the German translated version, produced by Sony Pictures.

He also released his first video clip with 'Stugang Collective', a rap group with two other footballers: Alexis Fambo and Stephan Menseh.

Davies is the latest case of a footballer making a cameo in a film. Zinedine Zidane did so in Asterix at the Olympic Games.

David Beckham shared a scene with Charlie Hunnam in 'King Arthur: The Legend of Excalibur'.

Arguably the most iconic was former player Vinnie Jones as a protagonist of 'Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels' as well as 'Snatch'.

Guti, Iker Casillas, Iván Helguera, Torres, Arbeloa, Cesc Fábregas, Higuaín and Sergio Ramos have appeared in different parts of the 'Torrente' saga.
