BAM MARGERA

The Jackass star's descent into Hell

This is the story of Brandon Cole Margera, “Bam” - the nickname his grandpa gave him when he was three,  due to him always crashing into walls.

As a teenager, Bam and his friends created a video series called CKY, which eventually turned into  Jackass in the 2000s.

His jokes triumphed on TV: from jumping headfirst into a container  to hanging from a tree by his underpants, to pranking his father.

Between snakepits and fans who ate their own vomit, Bam’s skater career was progressing.

Element turned him pro and  came to charge $40,000  a month to sell his boards  ($12,000 more than Tony Hawk).

To this, we can also add his  monthly income plus regular  payments - up to $377,000 -  for the sale of his Adio shoes.

He was able to buy a convertible Lamborghini Murciélago and live in “Castle Bam”, a plot over 61,000 square feet, with skatepark included.

If that wasn’t enough, he went on tour with Tony Hawk, starring on the cover of his video game. More money, more perks - a Ferrari Modena.

MTV gave him his own show, Viva La Bam, which was perhaps the beginning of his decline, as the dedication to it required him to leave skating.

In 2011, his best friend, Ryan Dunn (from Jackass) was killed when he crashed his car into a tree while driving drunk at high speed.

Bam fell in popularity and became addicted to alcohol. He tried to get sober, but he couldn’t. He went on to state that he had wanted to die.

After several attempts, he succeeded He chose Spain to get back to skating, far away from the cameras in the U.S.

But he relapsed again. He was arrested for driving drunk and fired from the Jackass movie. He entered a rehab clinic where he lasted 10 days.

In 2021, he finally entered a program  in which he’s been for a year. His goal: “to go back to Southern California, buy a house, and work with sober skaters.”  He will go on!
