LUIS ENRIQUE'S
PSG have made five signings already this summer
Despite huge investment at the Parc des Princes, Paris Saint-Germain remain unable to achieve their goal of winning the Champions League.
To freshen things up, the club have hired Luis Enrique as boss. Handed a two-year deal, he has experience of winning the UCL as a coach.
With major names such as Lionel Messi and Sergio Ramos leaving this summer, PSG have been quick to bring in a raft of signings.
Bought on a free, Milan Skriniar will help to fill the hole left by Ramos. He wins 75% of his duels and completes 93% of his passes.
PSG have also boosted their backline with €50m centre-half Lucas Hernández. With Marquinhos already there, the defence looks very solid.
Fresh blood has been added in midfield, too. Manuel Ugarte, 22, has joined for €60m after excelling at Sporting CP.
In attack, meanwhile, PSG have looked to LaLiga. Marco Asensio has signed from Real Madrid, and Kang-in Lee has joined from Real Mallorca.
PSG’s main transfer headache is Kylian Mbappé, who could leave the club. President Nasser Al Khelaïfi has given him two weeks to decide his future.
The uncertainty over Mbappé has led PSG chiefs to scope out alternative options such as Harry Kane, Sadio Mané and Bernardo Silva.
According to L’Équipe, 12 players have no future at the club. They include Juan Bernat, Keylor Navas, Julian Draxler, Gio Wijnaldum and Mauro Icardi.
