Bayern have decided to sell Sadio  Mané at the end of the season

Recent events have changed the  course of Sadio Mané’s future. Per Bild, Mané assaulted team-mate Leroy Sané after Bayern's defeat at Man City.

In the wake of the incident, Bayern have decided to sell Mané. He’s  under contract until 2025, but his relationship with the club is broken.

According to Football Insider, the Senegal striker would seek a Liverpool return if he left Bayern. At 31, however, the Reds feel he’s now too old.

The player’s camp says his intention is to move back to the Premier League. Before playing for Liverpool, he spent two years at Southampton.

Per Sky Germany, Bayern see their signing of Mané as a mistake, particularly given the €20m annual salary handed to the player.

He has 11 goals and five assists in  32 games for the club. His best season for Liverpool came in 2019/20, when he scored 22 and set up 12.

Mané’s market value is currently estimated at around €45m - a lot  lower than it used to be. His expected price tag reached €150m in 2019.

Bayern fined Mané €500,000 over his altercation with Mané, and suspended him for a game. He was left out of this month’s draw with Hoffenheim.

But new boss Thomas Tuchel has defended him: “I’ll be the first to stick up for him. He has my complete confidence. Everyone makes mistakes.”

According to Bild, Sané  petitioned Bayern chiefs not to sack  his team-mate, who has  apologised to the whole squad.

Bayern are enduring a rocky period. In the past month, the Bavarians have changed coach, had internal spats and been knocked out of the UCL.
