Max Dowman has made history in the Premier League. At just 16, Arsenal’s wonderkid has broken a record that had stood for decades.

He was born on December 31, 2009. He joined Arsenal’s academy at eight, and his level was so extraordinary that by 13 he was already playing for the U-18s.

He can play as a right winger or an attacking midfielder. In 2024, he impressed Mikel Arteta and, at just 14, trained with the first team.

In September 2024, at 14 years, 8 months, and 19 days old, he scored in the Youth League and became the youngest goalscorer in the competition’s history.

On August 23, 2025, he made his league debut against Leeds at 15 years and 235 days old. He is the second-youngest player ever, behind Nwaneri.

In November 2025, he came on against Slavia Prague, becoming the youngest player in Champions League history at 15 years and 308 days old.

The real breakthrough came on March 14, 2026. Arsenal were drawing 0–0 against Everton when Arteta brought him on in the 74th minute, replacing Zubimendi.

In stoppage time, with the opposing goalkeeper upfield, Dowman picked up the ball in his own half, sprinted forward at full speed, and scored to seal the win (2–0).

At 16 years and 73 days old, he is now the youngest goalscorer in Premier League history, breaking James Vaughan’s record that had stood since 2005.

He doesn’t share a dressing room with his teammates because England’s regulations for minors are strict. He has to get changed separately.
