OASIS IS BACK
THANKS TO CITY
16 years after splitting up, the Manchester band returns to tour, and Pep Guardiola's team has played its part.

In August 2009, the rock band Oasis disbanded following differences between brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher.
The leads announced a comeback tour across the UK and Ireland, and tickets sold out within hours. Manchester City may have played a role in their return.
Born in Manchester, the Gallagher brothers are fans of the 'Citizens' and often attend matches at the Etihad Stadium to watch the team live.
Additionally, the fans sing some of their songs, inlcuding "Live Forever" and "Wonderwall," during home matches.
Noel, for his part, has a very good relationship with Pep Guardiola, and said that if he won the Champions League, he would become his butler.
He has also contributed to the club's designs. The shirt numbers that the club is using in European competitions this season are his creation.
They may have even influenced transfers. De Rossi almost joined City in 2012, and although the deal didn't go through, meeting the Gallagher brothers made him seriously consider it.
In 2023, after Man City eliminated Real Madrid in the Champions League, someone asked Liam on X if the band would reunite if they won it.
Liam's response excited the band's fans, as he said he was ready for a possible comeback if they won.
Months later, Gundogan lifted the first European Cup trophy in City's history during an incredible season in which they achieved the treble.
