Ryan García is one of the fighters who  in the media the most at the moment. His social impact could make him a future king.

The American, just 23 years old, dominated Javier Fortuna at the WBC lightweight fight.

García was raised in a gym. He started boxing when he was 7... 10 years later, he decided to turn professional. Getting a head start is his thing.

Despite debuting so young, his amateur stage ended with 215 wins and 15 losses. He was a 15-time national champion.

He made his debut in 2016 at 17 years old, and fought 4 fights in 2 months in Mexico. As a minor, he couldn't compete professionally in the US.

After two more fights, and then in the US, Óscar de la Hoya scooped him up and signed him at the end of 2016. He saw a future in him.

De la Hoya has been taking care of him. Speed, punch, and mobility are his main weapons. García is above average.

Along with his sports career, Ryan has managed to create a huge digital community. He has almost nine million followers on Instagram.

His quality in the ring and the support he has from young people have created an interesting product. He is always attracting new audiences boxing. 

His big proof came in January 2021. He knocked out Luke Campbell in an epic duel and won the WBC Interim Lightweight World Championship.

In summer 2021, he left boxing due to mental health and later underwent surgery. That break made him lose his drive and it began to raise doubts.

He was on Eddy Reynoso's team, but the relationship fizzled. He didn't feel valued and to get back in it, he teamed up with Joe Goossen.

"The new Ryan" made his debut in April 2022. He won, but he left Tagoe with doubts.

On Saturday, he proved that he is still capable of doing what he did to Campbell, by dominating Fortuna. He's young, but he can't wait anymore.
