With six world titles, 94 victories, and 150 podium finishes in her career, Mikaela Shiffrin is one of the most notable athletes of all time.

It all began in 2011 when, at the age of just fifteen, she achieved her first victory in the World Cup, in the Åre event in Sweden.

Since then, she hasn't stopped, and at only 28 years old, she has surpassed Ingemar Stenmark as the most decorated skier of all time.

At the Winter Olympics in Sochi 2014, she also became the youngest Olympic champion in history in the slalom discipline.

Proof of her success is that, in 2023, Shiffrin was included by Time among the 100 most influential people in the world.

In addition to being a powerhouse in skiing, she is also a standard-bearer for the feminist movement. Her entire team is composed of women.

In fact, during her appearance on Jimmy Fallon's Late Night show on NBC, she proudly stated that they have already managed to close the gender pay gap in the world of skiing.

In addition to that, Shiffrin is an important environmental activist. Last year, she signed a manifesto urging the International Ski Federation to adopt a more environmentally friendly calendar.

"There is a very real threat to what we know and love about winter. What we hope for is to be able to enjoy skiing for many years to come. And that is threatened at this moment."

In late January, Shiffrin suffered a knee injury after falling during the Cortina d’Ampezzo downhill race. She had to be evacuated by helicopter.

As a result, she was unable to compete in the Avet de Soldeu race, losing the World Cup lead after three years. She is already training for her comeback.
