The left-back set up Morocco’s winner against Portugal, and put in an excellent defensive display in a hugely demanding quarter-final tie.

(Defender - Morocco)

The central defender managed to keep Portugal’s attackers at bay. He won 100% of his ground duels and 75% of his aerial duels.

JAWAD EL YAMIQ

(Defender - Morocco)

Croatia’s defensive general, Gvardiol won’t be at Leipzig for much longer. His ball recovery launched the attack that led to the Croats’ equaliser.

JOSKO GVARDIOL

(Defender - Croatia)

The right-back latched on to  Lionel Messi’s pass to score Argentina’s first goal, and registered a 78% pass-completion rate.

NAHUEL MOLINA

(Defender - Argentina)

The 37-year-old Croatia captain kept running for 130 minutes. He’s superhuman, and remains the cornerstone of his national team.

LUKA MODRIC

(Midfielder - Croatia)

Griezmann is returning to his best.  He supplied two assists in France’s win over England, and is a constant source of attacking danger.

ANTOINE GRIEZMANN

(Midfielder - France)

One of Portugal’s few bright spots. Bruno completed three out of three dribbles, and had an 86% passing rate. He had a good World Cup.

BRUNO FERNANDES

(Midfielder - Portugal)

En-Nesyri scored the goal that  beat Portugal and took Morocco  into their first ever World Cup  semi-final. A national hero.

YOUSSEF EN-NESYRI

(Forward - Morocco)

Weghorst made a big impact as a sub against Argentina, demonstrating his finishing ability with two goals. His side came so close to the semis.

WOUT WEGHORST

(Forward - Netherlands)

Messi scored a goal and served  up a fabulous assist. Argentina need  him at his best, and he’s stepping  up in the key moments.
