RONALDO INVESTS IN

SOCCER SIM

The star has pumped $40m into  the creation of a new video game

Five-time Ballon d’Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo has gone down as one of  the greatest soccer players of all time.

Over the past two decades, the star has scored more than 860 goals for Sporting CP, Man United, Real Madrid, Juventus, Al Nassr and Portugal.

Away from the pitch, meanwhile, Ronaldo has carved out a successful business career. His range of ventures bring in over a billion euros a year.

The 38-year-old boasts a business empire that includes hotels, real estate, gyms, beauty clinics, perfumes,  fashion - and now video games.

He’s invested $40m in the creation of  a soccer sim called UFL. It aims to  rival EA FC, the long-running series  of games formerly known as FIFA.

Ronaldo was previously one of  the faces of FIFA for a number of  years, appearing on the cover of  the EA Sports video game.

UFL’s exact release date remains unconfirmed, but we do know it’s  due out in 2024. It'll be for PS5  and Xbox, and will be free-to-play.

UFL’s developers, Strikerz Inc,  have put out sneak-peek  images of the game, releasing a  trailer starring Ronaldo.

UFL has partnered with FIFPRO, the union that represents over 65,000  pro soccer players, and clubs such as Celtic, Monaco and West Ham.
