Former Liverpool and Borussia Dortmund boss Jürgen Klopp has  been in the sports headlines in recent days, for two very different reasons.

Firstly, because the 57-year-old  hinted at a coaching conference in  his native Germany that he could  retire altogether from management.

And secondly, because of this image that’s gone viral on social media: you could be forgiven for thinking Klopp has taken over at Shakhtar Donetsk.

However, the man in question is in  fact the Croat Igor Grskovic, who works as a physio at the Ukrainian club.  His likeness to Klopp is quite striking.

Like Klopp, Grskovic’s connection  with the beautiful game goes way back. His father, Branko, was the club doctor at Croatian club Hajduk Split.

Grskovic then began his career as the physio at the same club. He was part  of the backroom team that led Hajduk to the first Croatian title in 1992.

Years later, he moved to Ukrainian soccer. He has now spent more  than a decade with Shakhtar, the  15-time domestic champions.

At times, Grskovic has also worked for the Croatian national team. His social-media followers include Luka Modric, Ivan Perisic and Dejan Lovren.

Such has been the global reaction to the viral photo of Grskovic that Shakhtar took to social media to clarify that it isn’t Klopp!
