MUSIALA

BAYERN'S BOY WONDER

The young Germany star has become a key figure in the Bayern Munich team

After arriving at Bayern Munich at  16, Jamal Musiala made his ‘B’-team debut a year later - and quickly progressed on to the first-team squad.

Since his first-team emergence,  Musiala has been a regular for Bayern. Now 20, he has already made over  100 appearances for the Bavarians.

The attacker is a fixture in Julian Nagelsmann’s side in Munich. He may be physically slight, but he boasts lightning-quick speed of thought.

This season, Musiala has racked up more goal involvements than any other under-21 player in Europe. He’s scored 15 times and supplied 12 assists.

A Germany international since 2021, Musiala is so, so influential for  Bayern: he creates an average of eight chances per game for his team.

Although on paper he operates as  a left winger for Bayern, he  tends to drift inside and play a central role in the side's build-up play.

With the ball glued to his boot, he leaves defenders in his wake with his ability to go by players. He has been compared with Andrés Iniesta.

Musiala is a fan of Barça’s brand of play: “Their midfield, with Xavi, Iniesta and Busquets - it fascinated me. I watched their games again and again.”

Musiala’s stellar performances  have led his market value to  rocket: right now, his estimated  worth stands at around €100m.

He’s under contract at the Allianz Arena until 2026, but Bayern are working hard to tie the youngster  down to a longer-term deal.

The Bundesliga champions want  to avoid Musiala leaving at all costs. He’s the future of Bayern Munich -  and of German soccer as a whole.
