Find a machine valued at more than $1,200 for $15

29-year-old Nick Lafrenz found a professional popcorn popper at a thrift store in Portland, Ore.

His surprise came when he saw its incredible price: he bought the machine, similar to those used in movie theaters and hospitality, for only $15.

Although the machine is between 10 and 15 years old, it is in very good condition, suggesting that it was not previously used much.

After purchasing it, Lafrenz discovered that similar models of the machine, from Gold Medal, cost more than $1200 on the market.

“I cleaned it well and tested it over the weekend after I picked it up. It works perfectly, I've already made popcorn and everyone loves it,” he continued.

He shared his find on Reddit under the user u/nlafrenz96, where images of the machine quickly went viral.

The post on Reddit received more than 5900 votes and 100 comments, surprising the online community.

He plans to use the machine to make popcorn at his blueberry farm in Oregon, and offer free popcorn to his customers during the summer.

The reaction on Reddit has been overwhelmingly positive, with many users praising his incredible find: “it's a quality find.”

Lafrenz is thrilled with his purchase and the positive reaction online, and expects his popcorn machine to be a big hit on his farm.
